Chambal River Crocodile Safari
Crocodile-spotting at Chambal River
- 4 Hours
- 1-6 People
- Morning or afternoon
Explore the waters of Chambal by boat to spot critically endangered crocodiles.
India's healthiest population of the severely threatened gharial - aka the gavial or the fish-eating crocodile - call Chambal home. Accompanied by our experienced naturalist guide, we invite you to go crocodile-spotting at Chambal River on the fringes of Sawai Madhopur to spot this captivating crocodilian in its natural habitat. The gharial is among the longest of all living crocodilians, with males growing up to six metres (20 feet) long. They're easily identified by a set of long and very thin jaws evolved to best suit their predominantly fish diet. This excursion includes round-trip transfers by private Jeep from your hotel to the riverbank and a guided boat ride on the river. The price for this excursion is available upon request as it depends on the number of participants. Please get in touch with us if you'd like to discuss costs.
